Creative Card Folding

Image
Happy Wednesday... I've been getting a little bored making cards lately...What?!? Bored??? How can that be? Well...not the designing of the card front or inside. There is so much out there to get bored with creating, unless you come to one of those creative brick walls and it takes you almost week to figure out a way of getting around it.  I'm talking about the way it opens and closes. I get bored with that, and watching how people automatically know to open the card from right to left or from bottom to top. There are times I want to just screw around and give the receiver a hard time. Make them think about it or give them a different perspective of my little pieces of art. Gotta earn that cash nephew. Ha ha ha... Yes I have a mean streak sometimes. I did a little digging around on that website that everyone loves to go to for inspiration, and I found a few ideas. I thought I would share them with you. The first one I did looks complicated but it's not. The card fol...

What's your palette problem?

What is your go to color? Do you have a favorite color tone for your cards or scrapbook layouts? I know some that love neutrals, blues, or bold colors. There are some that are happy doing monotones or white on white colors. My picks tend to be bright colors that make me think of happy days at the beach or at the campground. If you have been following me, then you know that Bermuda Bay is my ultimate, all time favorite ink to use. I will cry if it ever retires. Ha ha ha...no really, I will. I will be ugly crying that day!! I love teals, aquas, and light shades of purple. These are my go to colors when I want to make cards. The issue I have is how to coordinate the thousands of other colors, so I'm not using just Bermuda Bay paper and embellishments on one card. This idea of coordinating colors and picking the right color tones can be tricky for some people. Especially if it's a color outside of your favorites. Broadening your view of the other colors can be sometimes overwhe...

Waterfront

Hi and Happy Wednesday. I have been super busy with all these events going on lately. I had an amazing time at the OnStage conference for Stampin' Up. I won some awesome prizes. They gave away some great products that I'm not allowed to share quite yet. Soon...very soon. (Me winning at life...ha ha ha)  I'm also getting ready for summer and all that goes along with that! Beach vacations, hiking, and camping for the Gilsons. We really enjoy being outside in the summer. The stamp set that I am showing off today was a great one that came out in the Occasions catalog and it helped shake off those winter blues. It's called Waterfront . It's a photopolymer set that are designed to stamp images like they are a watercolor painting. It's beautiful, especially if you enjoy the look of watercolor. The images are of mountains, pine trees, palm trees, water, and even a little hut or a log cabin. It's very versatile and can be stamped in so many different scenes...

Paper Penguin Monthly Stampin' Sampler

Image
Happy Tuesday gang! This week seems to my week for awesome ideas. 👀👀 I have been inspired to do a product monthly sampler. I think it will be a lot of fun to do. Each month I will pick a coordinating collection and break it down into samples. I would like to get at least 4 people to do it. That way my costs stay at $20 a month. Not too bad right? I mean for 20 bucks where else can you get Designer series paper, card stock, ribbon, embellishments, and other sweet surprises. All of these items will coordinate to create a few cards or even use on a couple of scrapbook layout. Stampin' Up has a large variety of coordinating products that when you have to purchase each one individually it can be dang expensive. So, I worked it out where you can get a sample through out the year. If you love the samples you can buy more of what you like or even add to it. To me that sounds like an awesome deal! I would LOVE to see it start in April. I have a collection already picked out and there a...

Paper Pumpkin.

So, I'm on the card kits kick again. I know, I know. Get over it Karen. I can't, just can't. Paper Pumpkin is so much fun!! You don't even have to decide how to coordinate colors, patterns, and inks. You don't have to have all the tools like blocks, dimensionals, and inks. No, you don't sweat over it all. Plus, every month is a surprise. You don't know what you're going to get. Like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates...you never know. You just start a month to month subscription or a prepaid subscription, wait for the 15th of each month (when they mail them out) and create. Maybe you think to yourself "Oh geez, I'm not a creative person at all." Well don't fret over that little issue. The Paper Pumpkin has instructions that comes in the kit. It explains step by step (with pictures) how to make the kit's cards. Perfect for those self proclaimed non-creative people. NO excuse there. Then you might tell me I'm not a ca...

Hey gang! I'm blogging to let you know there is only 2 weeks, yes 2 , left in Sale-A-Brations. That is going to fly by. If you have been eyeballing some stamp sets or paper, now is the time to act. If you don't know what to get, then let me show you some short videos on some of the kits and sets that are sure to " wow " you. Maybe even inspire you to start creating. This is the Bubble and Fizz bundle . It's a really fun and bright set that gives you lots of flexibility to create amazing projects. From cards, scrapbook pages and even fun gift boxes. The fun never ends.   This set is my favorite bundle that you can get for free with $100 order. It's so very pretty with the basket weave embossing folder. Nothing says Happy Easter without basket weave. This would coordinate really well with the Picnic with You Basket set. This set will coordinate with the Picnic Basket builder. Super cute!!  If you are still unsure what to get, then let me ...
