Welcome! I'm super excited to be starting a blog for Paper Penguin. I really wanted to have a space that I could share with everyone my ideas, projects, tips, and classes. Facebook is great but sometimes things get lost in that ever changing time line. 

 This is my very first blog post EVER!! So, please, bear with me as I work out my bugs. Any feed back is welcome too!!

 I wanted to share the project I did today. That darling 'Thanks' card I made using the Bella & Friends stamp set. I really wanted to show how easy it is to make a pretty card using the basic necessities of paper crafting. 

The materials and tools I used to create this card are what you will need for just about any paper crafting project. They are cardstock, patterned paper, a stamp set you will enjoy stamping with, a clear stamping block, ink pad, glue runner, liquid multimedia glue, Dimensionals foam dots, embellishments (Wink of Stella Shimmer Pen and string), colored pencils, scissors, and a paper trimmer. 

It's really not that big of a supply list, and you will use them every time you create a project. The selection can be overwhelming. The only advice I can give is pick a stamp set that you really like and then pick out the paper, inks, and embellishments to match. The Stampin' Up catalogs are awesome because it tells you which products coordinate. That's what I'm here for as well. Send me an e-mail and I'm happy to help.

Interactive Christmas Card

It's almost that time of year to start getting Christmas cards made and in the mail. I love making a card people will remember. I usually try to keep it simple since I usually have to make 15 cards. Hold on to Hope Card

I designed the Hold on to Hope card to show a fun technique using the positive and negative cut outs of dies. This is an inlaid technique and it's simple to do and results in a very impressive look. The stamp set I used was Stampin' Up! Hold on to Hope. It's a new set that will be available in January for purchase. This set has a coordinating die set called Cross of Hope Framelits. Kit Snob!!

I've really gotten into one of the all inclusive kits that is featured in the Annual Catalog . This box is amazing for all that comes in it. Have you considered getting one of these kits?  I didn't.  Nope. I have been stamping, doing scrapbook pages, and cards since high school, so I thought I didn't need to get  cards or pre-punched designs. I mean, come on, I could make that with all the paper, stamps and dies that I already have. I was being a total kit snob. I just didn't want to do it. Then, the other day I was trying to come up with a class. I realized, holy cow, I would have to buy paper, stamps, glue, embellishment and the list was getting longer and longer. This also meant the price of the class was getting bigger and bigger $$. What is a new demonstrator to do?  I was starting to stress, and then I saw it.👀 The "Oh Happy Day" all inclusive kit .
