Paper Penguin

I designed the Hold on to Hope card to show a fun technique using the positive and negative cut outs of dies. This is an inlaid technique and it's simple to do and results in a very impressive look. The stamp set I used was Stampin' Up! Hold on to Hope. It's a new set that will be available in January for purchase. This set has a coordinating die set called Cross of Hope Framelits. I know it's a little early to be talking about January and what is up and coming. I'm going to mention a few things anyway. I'm going to dig my heels in and start my classes, workshops, and even a card club. The first event in January will be a card buffet. This will be a all you make card class. The cost is $25 and that will cover 6 cards. After that extra cards are $2 each. I will have everything for you make the cards, so you will just need to bring a few items and yourself. All of these cards will be inspired from the limited Occasions catalog that will be coming out in January. Next will be a workshop I will put together to help you get ready for the month of loooove, February. I have some cute Valentines stamps, dies, and embellishments. Hey Paper Penguin Followers, This is a note to share my goals and hopes for this new venture with Stampin' Up! I love paper crafting and I feel that I have been blessed with the gift of crafting. My top goal is to make Paper Penguin my full time job and business. I really want to do this since I am VERY passionate about this craft, but also want to use what I love to provide a little bit of an income for my family. It's almost that time of year to start getting Christmas cards made and in the mail. I love making a card people will remember. I usually try to keep it simple since I usually have to make 15 cards. Every once in a while I get a wild hair and have to make a doozie just to send out to a certain person that really appreciates the effort I put into it. I decided I wanted to make at least one interactive Christmas card that can hold a gift card. It's like a surprise within a surprise.  It was a challenging card that was inspired by my card making hero Jennifer Mcguire. She is just amazing at techniques and thinking outside of the box. I love her style and creativity.  This is my version. It has a slide out sentiment and it opens like a regular card.
