Heart Happiness

Image
Ah, February, the month of LOOOOVE. We all look forward to the day that overflows with sappy cards, beautiful arrangements, and those amazing little pieces of  deliciousness we know as chocolate. Valentine's  Day is an awesome day to express your ooy gooey feelings for your crush, boyfriend or husband. ❤❤ I'm here to help you do just that. Show that special someone how much you really love them with a  new stamp set called " Heart Happiness ". It has a "hearty" dose of photopolymer hearts shaped stamps. The "Heart Happiness" set doesn't include any sentiments, but it coordinates with another stamp set in the Occasions catalog that does. It's called "Sure Do Love You". That set can be found on page 19.  I had a lot of fun with this set! I'm going to be honest, I'm not a fan of the color pink. It's just not me...so a lot of my samples are primarily red, gold, and shade of purple. This is a sweet little card...

Bird Banter Stamp Set

Image
I almost forgot to blog today!! It has been insane as far as weather goes, and with the bad weather comes the parents' dreaded snow days from school. I love my kid, but dang I'm in need of school to start up again.  You don't realize how much a 5 year old can talk until they are stuck inside for 4 days with no way to get all that energy out. I have found it comes out verbally. I probably answer a thousand questions in an hour. ANYWAY.... speaking of talking... Here is Bird Banter This stamp set is in the Occasions Catalog! It has some great parrot images that are sure to crack a smile on the recipient's face. It doesn't have any dies to cut images. All the images you see in the following samples were cut out by me. 😝 This is a card sample out of the Occasions catalog (pg 43) that I made.  I used Whisper White cardstock to create the card base and background. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored with Stampin' Blends Cherry Cobbler, Daffo...

Video on Second Generation Stamping.

This is probably one of my most favorite techniques. It's so simple and the results are just awesome. This is probably a good technique for new stamper and paper crafters, because you only need one ink pad, stamp, acrylic block, and paper to get these results. I really enjoy making my own background papers, and images with this technique. The second generation stamp is the stamped image you will get if you stamp an inked image twice without re-inking. If that statement confused, then let me give you the steps on doing it. 1. Ink you stamp with desired ink pad 2. Stamp one time on paper (scrap paper) 3. Stamp again (second generation stamp) on your cardstock 4. Repeat steps 1-3 until you have acquired your image you want. It's easy and pretty. I hope you enjoy the video. I did my best to keep it under 10 minutes, but it didn't happen. I have boys and dogs running around today. Ha ha ha.. also, please forgive my editing. I'm still learning the tricks of the t...

Beautiful Peacock Stamp Set

Image
Happy Hump Day!! I thought a little post on a Wednesday would be a good pick me up!! I have played and played with this stamp set and I finally LOVE❤ it. The Beautiful Peacock stamp set took a little getting used to, but now that I got the look I want I enjoy playing with it. Here are some samples I did with this set. To get the hang of this set I went to a friend's house to see what we could come up with together. Sometimes you just have to bounce ideas off a good crafting buddy. That's when I came up with the first card. It's a very dramatic gold on black card. I really wanted contrast, so I did gold heat embossing with the peacock body and the vine image for the tail. I then framed it out with black and gold polka dot cardstock. The gold trim around the edges of the center was a gold paint marker. I just trimmed the edges with it. It was simple to do and it gave the card an elegant look. The sentiment is stamped on gold cardstock. I just love the result...

If you do try the technique, please, share a picture with me on my facebook page. I wanna see what you come up with. I love this technique it's fun and simple. Enjoy!! https://youtu.be/FuvoSHZfT7E

Hold on to Hope Card

Image
I designed the Hold on to Hope card to show a fun technique using the positive and negative cut outs of dies. This is an inlaid technique and it's simple to do and results in a very impressive look. The stamp set I used was Stampin' Up! Hold on to Hope. It's a new set that will be available in January for purchase. This set has a coordinating die set called Cross of Hope Framelits. The materials: White thick cardstock -cut at 3 1/4' x 4 1/4", a scrap piece of white cardstock to glue on die cut, and a 1/2" strip Black cardstock -cut at 3 1/2" x 4 1/2", a piece cut at 3"x 3" for die cutting, and a 3/4" strip  Emerald Envy cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 11", Then folded at 5 1/2" to make the card base Yellow cardstock cut at 3"x 3" for die cutting Stampin' Up! stamp set Hold on to Hope Stampin' Up! die set Big Shot die cutter Emerald Envy ink pad Memento Black Tuxedo ink pad Versa Ma...
